Photography

Discovery High School offers three levels of Photography that are a part of the Fine Arts pathway. The Fine Arts Pathway allows students to earn a Georgia Department of Education-issued Fine Arts Diploma Seal.

In Photography students are introduced to the use of the pinhole camera, film and digital camera, darkroom safety and operations, and image editing software. Assignments will include camera functions, creative camera angles, compositions based on the principles and elements of design, and the use of studio lighting equipment such as: light-meters, strobes, flash units, backdrops and props. Students will be expected to shoot assignments both inside and outside of the classroom. Through this experience student will develop leadership, team building and photographic skills.

*Prerequisites: Gr. 10 - 12. Successful Completion of Both Visual Comp I & Visual Comp II
